How do I get started?

Flick us an email or fill in the contact form. Please be sure to leave a phone number so we can have a chat and you can tell us a bit about your background and situation. Everyone’s context is different, so the approach we’ll need to take with your journey is unique to you.

Generally the first step is a Starter Package. This includes a total of four 1:1 appointments, including:

      • Integrative health consult. A detailed initial consultation where we take a snapshot of what’s going on for you health wise, looking at hormonal patterns and imbalances, chemical and nutritional toxicity, liver and gut health, as well as energy rhythms, digestion and mood. This assessment allows us to make initial recommendations surrounding the right nutrition, supplementation and training stimulus for you based on your current health status and goals.
      • Full physiology assessment conducted over two appointments, where we take a look at your structural balance and functional movement – we assess any restrictions, weaknesses, imbalances and problem areas
      • An additional 1:1 personal training session to kick things off

What is involved in the free initial consult?

This is a 15min phone call or face to face catch up at the B32 facility for us to hear your story, and have a chat about how we can work together to move you forward toward your goals.

Do you do CrossFit classes/training?

B32 Athletics was a CrossFit affiliate for a number of years, but we experienced and noticed persistent injuries, niggles and declining health and wellness with many folks who were training exclusively using CrossFit methodologies.

So we evolved our approach to become fully integrated training for balanced fitness, using some elements of CrossFit, but within a broader training framework of structured, phased strength work and some energy system training. We also incorporate advanced mobility protocols, natural, functional movement and key lifestyle elements into the mix.

We have found this approach takes care of people. Less injuries, more consistency, less fatigue, more energy.

Who is your Group Training for?

Our group training is small group personal training, with class sizes no more than 8, so you’ll always be well taken care of by our highly qualified coaches, each of whom have been students of our highly sought after Coach Mentoring Program.

The group training is for folks who want balanced fitness. Balance in structure, hormonal stimulus and development across various energy systems, as well as balance in lifestyle. Our training is both challenging and supportive of your health and fitness goals, always in ways that contributes to your growth and development, and not to your tear down. Our training is for people who like to know there’s a plan behind the programming, clever design that not only keeps you safe and progressing consistently, but that also incorporates variety and enhances your engagement in your own fitness journey.

If you have severe health issues or physical imbalances, unfortunately, the group training is not for you… yet. If this is you, and you’re still keen to get involved, please contact us anyway – It may just be a matter of helping you work on some of your health or physical limiters before jumping in.

How do I read your training programs and blog?

Check out our Client Training Guide.

Do I have to train at your facility to access your integrative health coaching and other services?

No. While it is definitely more effective for us to oversee a total, integrated approach to your health and fitness, from training through to nutrition, health and directional coaching, you can still access services like Integrative Health Coaching, Individual Program Design, Directional Coaching and participate in the Coach Mentoring Program without doing your fitness training with us here at B32.

Do you do drop ins or casual visits?

Due to our perspectives on hormonal and structural balance, we unfortunately do not facilitate ‘drop-in’ visits for our group classes.

Also, while we’d love for you to see what we do and meet the team, all of our coaches are booked by appointment, so we cannot accommodate drop in visits to say ‘hi’, as we will likely not be able to spend the time to chat with you. If you’d like to come by, please drop us an email first to make sure someone is available to speak with you.

Can I get an appointment outside of business hours?

Appointments are available between 7am-6pm, Monday to Friday. Other times may be available by specific arrangement with your Coach.  Integrative Health Coaching appointments are available Monday to Thursday, from 7:30am-4:30pm.

When is your gym open?

Our opening hours are outlined here.

I don’t live near B32. What options are available to me?
We consult remotely via phone or Skype. You can access Integrative Health and Directional Coaching, as well as Individual Program Design and the Coach Mentoring Program anywhere in the world with a phone or internet connection.
Our corporate seminars and workshops are available globally. If you run a facility or business elsewhere and would like to host a seminar or workshop, please contact us for details.

Do you do appointments off-site, away from the B32 facility?

Aside from our remote coaching options, we do not offer training or consulting appointments away from the B32 Athletics facility, unless by specific arrangement with your B32 Coach.

Are you an OPT gym?

Both James Fitzgerald of Optimum Performance Training, Arizona, and Mike over at OPT Calgary, are mentors, friends, colleagues and advisors to us at B32 Athletics. While each of our coaches has either completed or had detailed exposure to the OPT Coaching Certification Program (CCP), we are not exclusively an “OPT gym”.

James (OPT) has been a great influence in the evolution of B32 Athletics as a full service health facility and we employ many components of his frameworks and coaching philosophies. These together with methodologies and perspectives from a great many sources have formed a basis for the evolution and creation of what is now our own, unique approach to training and coaching.

I run a fitness facility. Can I book you in to run a workshop or seminar at my place?

Totally. Educating and creating change in the health and fitness community is a big focus and driver for us. Please contact us to chat about the kind of event you’re after and tee it up.

How often do you run workshops and seminars at B32?

We aim to run a workshop or seminar around once a month. We post all our upcoming events details here. If there is a particular topic you’d like covered, and you know a few folks are interested in the same thing, please let us know.

I can’t make it to your workshops. Can I purchase workshop notes or video?

After each workshop, we disseminate a detailed publication of the key concepts and principles covered in the event. If you’d like to purchase this publication, please contact us. Stay tuned for the availability of workshop footage in the near future.
